Drop the bike and the front master cylinder is one of the first things to meet the ground.
Machined aluminium shield that clamps to the bar alongside the master cylinder and stands proud of it, anodised and shaped so the lever and its span adjuster still move freely.
A cracked master cylinder is a ride-ending failure. This is the cheap part that stops it becoming one.
