It's a panel filter built from multiple layers of cotton gauze soaked in low-viscosity oil, wrapped in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh that shrugs off fuel vapour and humidity — a real consideration in Kerala's climate. The open weave of the cotton lets noticeably more air through than compressed paper, yet the layered, oiled construction traps particles down to 7 microns, finer than the roughly 10 microns a standard paper element manages. More air in, less dirt in. Both at once.

BMC moulds the entire filter as a single piece — no welded joints, no seams that split with age — and the soft red rubber frame seats airtight into the G 310's stock airbox. Installation is a straight swap for the paper filter: no modification, no tuning required.
