The 650 twin already has a genuinely satisfying character — the BMC FM01070 is what lets it breathe the way it deserves to, whether you're on the classic-styled Interceptor or the café-racer Continental GT.

This is a panel filter, engineered as a direct replacement for the stock element sitting inside your airbox. Multi-layered cotton gauze, soaked in low-viscosity oil and wrapped in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh, lets more air flow through to the engine while still filtering out particles down to 7 microns — finer than the roughly 10-micron stock paper filter, even with the extra airflow. More air in, cleaner air in, both at once.

Built using BMC's single-mould "Full Moulding" process, there's no welded seam anywhere on the filter to eventually crack under heat and vibration, and the durable rubber edge seals tightly into the stock airbox for a proper airtight fit. It's a straight swap for the paper filter — no cutting, no tuning changes, no drama.

Wash it, don't replace it. The FM01070 comes pre-oiled and ready to install. When it's due a clean, wash and re-oil it with a BMC regeneration kit and it's back to full performance — the same filter doing the job for years, not a fresh paper one every service.
