KTM built the Duke's reputation on being sharp — quick throttle, immediate response, nothing lazy about it. A stock paper filter is one of the few genuinely restrictive parts left in that equation.

The BMC FM995/04 replaces it with layered cotton gauze soaked in low-viscosity oil, wrapped in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh — media that flows more air than compressed paper while still filtering down to 7 microns, finer than the stock filter's roughly 10. More air, better filtered, straight to an engine that was already built to use it.

It's produced using BMC's single-mould "Full Moulding" process, so there's no welded seam anywhere on the filter to eventually crack under heat and vibration, and the rubber edge grips the stock Duke airbox for a proper airtight fit. Installation is a direct swap — no cutting, no remapping.

Wash it, don't bin it. The FM995/04 comes pre-oiled and ready to install. Once it's due a clean, run it through a BMC regeneration kit and it's back to full spec — the same filter doing the job for years, not a fresh paper one every service.
