Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 performance parts: Red Rooster exhaust, BMC air filter, NGage Stage 2 kit and spark plug kit

Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Performance Upgrades: Where to Start

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 share the same 650 twin engine, so the same performance parts fit both bikes. This guide covers the upgrades we stock for them, what each one does, and an order that makes sense if you are building your setup step by step.

Exhaust: the upgrade you hear and feel first

Most riders start with the exhaust. The Red Rooster Performance Stellar exhausts are made for the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Each comes as a set of two silencers with DB killers and heat shields, built from grade 304 stainless steel with ceramic wool packing. Choose the Stellar Polish or the Stellar Black.

To go a step further, the Stellar header pipes replace the pipes between the engine and the silencers. They are designed to be paired with a performance exhaust to improve exhaust flow.

Air filter: let the engine breathe

The BMC FM01070 air filter is a direct replacement for the stock panel filter in the airbox. Its oiled cotton gauze lets more air through while still filtering particles down to 7 microns, finer than the roughly 10-micron stock paper filter. It is washable and reusable, so you clean it rather than replace it.

Stage II intake kit

The NGage Stage II kit replaces the restrictive factory intake path so the engine can draw more air. Fit it alongside a performance air filter, not instead of one: the kit changes the intake path, and the filter does the filtering.

Spark plugs and leads

The NGage spark plug kit swaps the stock plugs and leads for performance plugs with silicone plug leads. It is a direct replacement with no cutting or splicing, aimed at cleaner starts, a steadier idle and more consistent combustion. The same kit also fits the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650.

Fuelling: match the fuel to the extra air

From the factory, the 650 twin's fuelling is set lean for emissions. Once the exhaust and intake are opened up, a fuelling module helps the engine make use of the extra air. The PowerTRONIC FuelX Pro+ for the India-spec 2023–24 Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 plugs into the stock harness. It keeps adjusting the air-fuel ratio to your riding style, the parts you have added, temperature and altitude, and it has 10 autotune maps.

Or fit the main parts in one go

The Twin Power Pack bundles the Red Rooster Stellar Polish exhaust, a BMC washable air filter, the NGage Stage II kit and the NGage spark plug kit. It is priced below buying the four parts separately.

A sensible order

  1. Exhaust
  2. Air filter and Stage II intake kit
  3. Spark plug kit
  4. Fuelling module, once the breathing parts are fitted

Before you order

  • Check your bike's model year. The FuelX Pro+ listing is for India-spec 2023–24 bikes.
  • Not sure a part fits? Use the "Ask about this product" box on the product page and tell us your bike and year.
  • If you are not comfortable fitting parts yourself, have a qualified mechanic fit them.
